Dinner Date

We've been lucky enough to reconnect with two sets of high school friends who are also a part of the recent baby-makin' brigade. Even better, we convinced them all to move to Alameda. We went over for dinner at Heather, Serkan and Rowan's (8 months) with Elena, Lane, Gabriella (3 years) and Baby Grover (still in utero).

Thomas was the littlest kid that was not in a mama's belly, but to us he is still a big boy.

Buddies!

My good friend Alie had to have foot surgery so a few of us that are still on maternity leave or are staying home went over to cheer her up and keep her company.

It became quite the playdate!

Thomas is the youngest of all the babies (so far).

Trying to get that picture was pretty entertaining. The chances of getting all five babies to look at one camera at the same time? One in oh...ten bazillion...

He wasn't quite sure what to think of everything.

But seriously, look at those long legs. Definitely our kid.

The Best Part

As hard as breastfeeding has been, this makes it totally worth it.

Swimming!

We took Thomas to Grandma's to go swimming for the first time - well, actually I really wanted to get in the pool since I hadn't gone swimming all summer and since the pool was a perfect 85 degrees, it seemed silly not to take the opportunity add to his list of "firsts."

Unfortunately, now they say not to put any sunscreen on babies until they are six months old so we all had to squish under an umbrella. Not the best for photo ops, but we still had to note the occasion.

Wedding Attire

We had a bunch of friends get married over the summer. Thomas was far too little to go to most of them, but we thought he might be old enough to take to our friends Heidi and Ryan's wedding in Oakland.

It is surprisingly hard to find cute fancy attire for little boys, but I found this ridiculously cute outfit online.

Tamar and Thomas went with the same era as inspiration.

Unfortunately, since pretty much everyone we know is in a band that means wedding music is going to be a little loud for itty bitty babies. Thomas was not a fan of his first live rock music (though he did love the pre-ceremony violin and piano) so we weren't able to stay for very long.

Its too loud.

 Somehow I have a feeling his aversion to rock music will be short lived.

Three Months!

For Thomas' three month birthday (well not really, but it was good timing) we got him this giant jumperoo. So far he is more interested in his thumb.

He did figure out the spinning wheel pretty quickly and is on his way to figuring out that jumping makes the lights and music start - though even I can't figure out how hard he needs to jump for that to actually happen...not so good Fisher Price...

His big milestone for this month is mastering the use of his hands. He is sooooo much less frustrated now.

One of the draw backs to living in Alameda is that since most of the houses are Victorians or Craftsmans the doorways aren't made for the doorway jumpers we had as kids, but that's okay since it fits perfectly well at Grandma's house.
