A Day on the Lawn

We decided to take Thomas outside to enjoy the summer evening. It was too hot for pants.

Pre-Bath Bath (AKA The Poop Bucket)

The first time we tried giving Thomas a bath he ended up dirtier than when we started (both ends in about 5 seconds) so we have instituted The Poop Bucket. A quick dip to get acclimated before the actual bath.

Mary's Visit

Mary came to meet Thomas. She came bearing Scolari's which is our mutual favorite to-go place.

She's had a couple of other friends have babies recently so she was a pro.

Heather and Kelby's Visit

My college roommate Heather moved back to the Bay Area just in time to meet Thomas.

And as it happened our other roommate, Kelby, was in town for a conference, so we all went out to dinner and caught up.

Amanda's Visit

Our friend Amanda came to visit and meet Thomas. She brought Thomas a super cute book and made us a SUPER delicious pumpkin risotto. She is also really good with babies.

Meeting Porter

Rebecca and I have been friends since the seventh grade. We may not have lived in the same city for over a decade, but we are still close - so close that our babies were due within two weeks of each other!

I was due on May 30th and Becca was due on June 12th, but the boys decided to switch it up. Porter arrived early on May 31st and Thomas decided to wait until June 9th. We'll see if this predicts anything about their personalities...

Thomas isn't sure what to think.

Becca and Brian were going to be in Gilroy for a family reunion so we absolutely had to introduce the boys to each other.

Thomas looked like quite the bruiser next to delicate Porter.

The third in our best buddy trifecta, Amy, also came to meet the boys. It was really fun, if a little weird to be surrounded by childhood friends and our babies (I know pictures were taken of this momentous occasion, but I'm not sure by whom).

Hopefully Porter and Thomas will get to spend a lot more time together in the future. They already seem to be like two peas in a pod - they even napped together.

 Auntie Sama is an excellent nap fairy.

One Month

Rock on.

Thomas may be the only kindergartener with wrinkles on his forehead.

We decided it was time to get him a fancy activity gym that moves and plays music. He loves it.

He has also mastered the art of binky spitting.

Great Uncle Fred

Great Uncle Fred came to meet Thomas. Its a pretty appropriate title for such a super uncle. They took to each other immediately.

Adam also gave Thomas a bottle for the first time and he took it like a champ. Yay!

First 4th of July

4th of July is a big to do in Alameda, but this year ours was very quiet since I'm still not feeling up to snuff and Thomas is still pretty little.

Grandma and Auntie Sam came up and barbequed burgers but left before dark. We watched the national fireworks on TV.
